Our SAGE music program is designed to explore the fascinating world of music.

When asked,"How important is a Music Program?" We like to respond that music is:

Scientific- a study of acoustics, frequencies, volume changes, melody and harmony with an exact control of time.

Mathematical - rhythmically based on the subdivisions of time into fractions done instantaneously, not on paper.

Linguistic- most of the musical terms are in Italian, German or French; and the notation is a highly developed "shorthand" that uses symbols to represent ideas. The semantics of music are most complete and universal language.

Historical-reflecting the environment and time of its creation.

Physical - requiring the coordination of fingers, hands, arms, lips, diaphragm, and chest muscles, all responding instantly to the sound the ear hears and the mind interprets.
