I
believe that each child is an individual that develops
socially and academically at their own pace. I want
my students to enjoy coming to school and be enthusiastic
about learning and socializing with their peers. My
job is to provide a stimulating academic environment
in which all my students will thrive.
The
lower grades have been fun and exciting this year. We
are learning a lot and we get to play too!
As
part of our reading program, we are focusing on how
to get along in our world, and learning how to find
unique ways to solve problems.
In math, we are continuing to learn numeration, addition,
subtraction, measurement, fractions, time and money.
Our program, "Everyday Math", has a
lot of fun games to play.
Our social studies units of Home, Family, and our Community
will take us on wonderful field trips this year. We
plan on visiting the public library and the pumpkin
patch. Our series of tickets to the Thousand Oaks Performing
Arts Center will prove to be very entertaining and educational. Our
science units include a hands-on weekly science lab.
We have learned about the life cycles of plants and
animals, and how various weather conditions effect people,
plants, and animals. We will study solids, liquids,
gases, the importance of good nutrition, exercise, sleep,
and, proper hygiene.
We
would love for you to come visit, so please call and
make an appointment. Between art, music, P.E., writing
lab, computer lab, and science lab, we are a very busy
class, but we would love to show you around! |
